Simply quality, single-vineyard wines

As newish custodians of Mount Moriac Wines, we (the O’Brien family) are thrilled that some of our major quality improvements are already showing in our wines. Investments in sustainable soil nutrition, vine health and cover crops will continue to give us big wins in the health of the vineyard and even better quality of our fruit in the years to come.

Enjoy our wines, they will just keep getting better, one vintage at a time.

The 2024 vintage saw us make some important changes to our harvest and winemaking programs. For the first time ever, our entire vineyard was hand-picked and every individual block was separately fermented. This approach meant that we maximised the quality of the fruit coming into the winery and also – through gentle management in the winery – allowed the unique characteristics and varietal expressions of each block to shine in harmony in our wines. In addition, the implementation of a brand new French oak aging program adds complexity to our wine’s aromas and taste. These 2024 wines are our first long-awaited wines from winemaker Alex Byrne at Mount Moriac.
