2024 Mount Moriac Pinot Noir

Deep burgundy in the glass, this elegant Pinot Noir opens with a complex bouquet of red fruits, earthy undertones, and subtle hints of spice and oak. On the nose and palate, layers of cherry and berry fruits are beautifully entwined with notes of herbs, exotic spices, nut shells, and chocolate creating a rich and aromatic combination.

Medium-bodied with a soft, round mouthfeel, the wine shows finesse and balance. Complex and assured, this wine is drinking beautifully now but has the structure and depth to evolve gracefully with age.

Wine notes

We hand picked each of our 5 pinot noir blocks and each of the 3 clones and kept them separate for their initial fermentation. In all, there were 7 ferments and each had 20% whole bunches left in them. We moved the wines into 15% new French oak for 12 months with the remainder seeing the same time in 1, 2 and 3 year old barrels.
